If you live in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, I’m sure you have at least heard of the Ann Arbor Art Center, but you may not know much about them. The Ann Arbor Art Center offers a huge variety of art classes for kids and adults, ongoing exhibitions from local and national artists, a fantastic gift shop, and what I most want to talk about: The 30x30 Project! 30x30 is the annual Spring fundraiser to raise awareness (and cash money) for Art for Kids Fund, the Art Center’s scholarship program which provides funding for over 200 local elementary-aged kiddos to take art classes for a year! Each Spring, 30 local artists will create 30 pieces of artwork in 30 days, and all of the artwork will be sold over 2 days in March to benefit both the Art Center and the artist! Each piece of artwork is sold for $40, $20 of which goes to the scholarship fund (of course, generous art lovers can always donate additional money to the program if they so choose).

I was beyond ecstatic to find out I was chosen to participate this year - what an awesome opportunity! I thought I’d get a head start on my 30 since that is quite a few pieces.. and thought I’d give you all a teaser of some things to come: Experimentation! New techniques! More letter stamping! Ooooh, ahhhhh.

Visit the Ann Arbor Art Center’s website to learn more about the work they do, and remember to add March 24th and 25th to your calendar to visit the Center to see my jewelry along with 29 other local artists work!
